In the US, enrollees must be attending a nail or cosmetology program of an accredited pre-license nail course in his/her state or hold a valid state license for performing nail services in that state. In other countries, the purchaser must have met the requirements of their country for performing nail care.

This is an advanced career development course offered to nail technicians and would not be accepted in lieu of education provided by a state-sanctioned school for licensure. No “accreditation” is necessary from or required by any state in the US at this level of education. In other countries, please inform us of any necessary requirements for you to take this program.

No, it does not for several reasons. One important reason is that only a handful of people have asked for them over the years and that does not justify spending the thousands to become approved again in all states who require them. We are happy to provide an outline for those who are in states that require CEs and award CEs for their professionals on that basis.

Yes, certain countries are eligible, though you must obtain our approval first. You must be working as a nail professional in your country of residence, according to your country’s regulations and be able to prove that you are.

The information in the course is available online, anytime, anywhere you have internet access. But schools that meet NCA’s standards may also offer the ANT Program.

You can purchase a bundle of the courses or purchase them individually. The bundle of core courses, the ANT + WNT + MNT Internship Bundle, includes a 20% discount for the courses.

To enroll, you must simply add the course to your cart, apply any applicable Coupon Code, if acquired, and complete your purchase. In this process you set up your User Profile and be directed for payment.

Tuition for the Advanced Nail Technician Program is $379.00 USD though it can be changed without notice. It can be paid through PayPal or credit card via Square, WooCommerce, Stripe and other modalities.

This program is copyrighted and your enrollment is good for only one student–just like a college course, only one person can attend. Sharing is not permitted.

Since the programs are immediately accessible after purchase, NCA adheres to the Intrenational Intellectual Property Refund Policy: No refund is available once the program is chosen and purchased. Download of any of our course modules is not allowed but once purchased, you are welcome to review them online at any time. We encourage review to support updating of your information as NCA periodically adds information to the modules. Yes, our website and our courses are fully responsive, meaning they work on any type of smart device—as long as you have internet access, you can view the modules.

We do not have a limitation because we encourage our graduates to re-enter for refresh of information often. However, we strongly encourage you to make steady progress toward achieving your Certification.

Yes, and we highly recommend it. Simply log into the website and go to the top menu bar to click on “Enrolled Courses” to access your purchased programs. You must log in to enter your purchased courses.

All the materials required by the course are provided on the website. We encourage you to download the ANT Handbook in Module 10 to keep in your salon as an excellent reference. Check for the download in "Materials."

Marketing materials are provided in the course which are downloadable and customizable. These materials are only available to ANT students/graduates after paying for and entering the programs. As you progress through the modules, there are many suggested marketing activities which will increase your level of success. Find the downloads in the "Materials" section on the Profile page..

The ANT program consists of topical modules of information, Module 1-10, and then an exam after finishing the 10 modules. Each module is divided then into topic sections. Module 1 supports understanding of how to move around in the course and introduces the course information. Study questions are available beneath the courses of Modules 2 – 8, which contain the “heart” of the program. We suggest you download and answer them as you proceed to aid in your test preparation. Module 9 is marketing techniques and activities. Module 10 is resources and materials to help you implement your new training.

We hope you will. The courses are written in the form of progressive learning to support the next topic. Each one is crafted to provide you the highest learning experience possible and is based upon sound learning principles. The exam questions are taken from the modules and the Handbook which can be downloaded in Module 10.

The exam is administered online and can be accessed in the program—you will be given directions at the appropriate time. You have two attempts to pass the exam. Once you open the exam, you must complete it–if you log out or are interrupted, that entrance will be logged as an attempt, your score will be calculated including the ones not finished as wrong attempts, and you will need to start again. Once you are satisfied with your answers, “submit” it and wait a moment to receive your grade.

A minimum of 80% is required to pass the exam to achieve certification as an Advanced Nail Technician (ANT) as well as the Safe Salon Certification exam. The student gets two chances to pass each exam. Those who do not speak English are their first language can notify Janet and have three chances to pass. The exams do not have a time limit.

After passing the exam with the required 80% correct, you must apply for your Certificate by submitting a Survey. The Survey should open automatically after you receive your exam grade, but in the event you miss the redirection, the Survey Link is listed in Module 10. When you submit your Survey, you should be redirected to PayPal to purchase your Certificate Packet. Paying for this additional certificate is optional. Passing the course exam allows the passing student to apply for a downloadable certificate which is free and is emailed directly to the course email the graduate is using.

Again, you do not. The displayable certificate packet is optional. We suggest the student wait until receiving the downloadable certificate before spending the money for the more expensive certificate. The other materials in the packet are available for download in the Resources tab on the Course Summary page of each program, and the pin is purchasable in the Resource tab of each program also as are the transparencies, etc. The difference between the two forms of certificates is the paper and the gold foil decoration. Both forms are designed to be a positive in your display.

After the courses, a free certificate is offered to the graduate for download. However, if the new graduate wishes to have the gold foiled certificate, there is a processing fee for those certificates, paid after the ANT through PayPal. It includes a Certification Packet, and can be optionally purchased for a fee once you have submitted a Course Survey. The ANT Certificate Packet contains high-quality displayable Certificates for the ANT and SSC ready for framing, an ANT pin to wear while working plus a Safe Professional transparency and Safe Salon Declaration to display for marketing purposes. This Safe Salon Professional certificate is included, plus marketing materials, if it is taken and passed immediately following the ANT exam.

The student actually can attain two certifications in this program, the Advanced Nail Technician Certification and the Safe Salon Certification. The Safe Salon Professional Certificate is awarded after taking the SSC Exam, which just covers Module 7, while the Advanced Nail Technician is taken after the full program is finished.

Yes, and we suggest you do this. After the exam, WAIT for the score to be shown, and then below that, the questions missed are available to peruse.

NCA programs are not academic programs; they are “awareness programs,” meaning we build knowledge to take the students to the next level of awareness in their specialties. We do not ask you to spit out definitions and protocols; we prepare you to perform the skills involved in each certification appropriately. The ANT Exam is 50 multiple choice questions, and the SSC is 25.

An entire module is written to support you in how to do that. Also, marketing materials are available and customizable for your use. If you do as we suggest, you will be at a much higher level of success very quickly. Additionally, mentoring is available free from Janet McCormick, plus Observations with successful MNTs.
